Free of Sugar – FAQ

Headache?

Headaches may be caused by too much toxins and/or acid in the body. Please go to detox to find out how to deal with this.

Stress?

Stress is a “fight or flight response” where the muscle system builds up more lactic acid. Again, too much acid in the body is unhealthy – see chapter for acid-base balance. Look at your present life and apply changes to minimise your stress and/or practice specific meditations.

Tired or weak?

A diet shift can be challenging for your body. The metabolism goes through a rejuvenation phase that requires a lot of energy. Allow yourself to rest and avoid strenuous activity or exercise until your metabolism has adjusted to the changes (up to 7 days). It’s also likely that you’re becoming more aware of how exhausted you are and that you haven’t had enough rest in a long time. Listen to your body’s requirements, rearrange your day, and relax! Weakness may also be caused by an excess of toxins in the body – please see detox for more information.

Vegetarian or Vegan?

Meat is an important source of essential Amino Acids. I highly recommend to eat meat.

Dairy Products?

Dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, cheese and quark contain milk sugar (lactose) which stimulates the production of insulin. In order to keep the insulin level down, please eat dairy products only in very low quantities, use goats or sheep instead of cow products and check the carbohydrate amount on the ingredients list (should be a maximum of 5g based on 100g). When it comes to cheese, fresh soft cheese is always a better choice than hard cheese. Goats’ and ewes milk products are preferred to cow’s milk. If you have allergies or acne best is not to eat any dairy products at all.

Nuts?

Some nuts are high in carbohydrates, e.g. cashew nuts. If you want to eat nuts please choose nuts such as almonds with max. 5g carbohydrates at a 100g serving size (check the nutritional values list). Another reason to keep the nuts consumption very low is that nuts are prone to fungus infestation which you do not want to establish in your intestine.

Fat free / Light Products?

Fat free or Light Products have less fat but they are stuffed with starch (carbohydrates) to compensate the lost product texture. Fat free or low fat is equal to high carbohydrates.

In the Name of Sugar?

99% of our packed food contains sugar. Please make it a habit to check the ingredients list on the packages. Sugar has many names in our food industry, here some examples: Sucrose/Saccharose, Maltose, Lactose, Fructose, Glucose, Invertose, Dextrose, Maltodextrin, Dextrine, sweetener Aspartame (E951) and Acesulfam-K or Ace K (E950).
